I don't worry about my reputation, I worry about my character.

I don't worry much.

Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them to become what they are capable of being.

Yes, I'm there, just not ALL there.

Failure is only the opportunity to more intelligently begin again.

Success...seems to be connected with action.  Successful men keep moving.  They make mistakes, but they don't quit.

The essence of true leadership is not a mtterof title or position or authority.  It is a simple matter of character, humility and service.

Among you, those who are the greatest should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.
Luke 22:26

A Smile costs nothing, but gives much
It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever
None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it,
and none is so poor, but that he can be made rich by it

A Smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship

It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,
and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone, until it is given away

Some people are too tired to give you a smile;
Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

My philosophy is that not only are you responsible for your life, but doing the best at this moment puts you in the best place for the next moment.

It's not what happens to you; it's what you do about it that makes the difference

Reputation is what others think of you.

Character is what you think of yourself.

I worry about my character; my reputation will take care of itself.

The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible.

Character--what you would do if you knew noone else would ever find out.  A true test of  character.

Reputation--how other people  perceive you--in other words, what you do when you know someone is watching.

Mistakes don't make you a failure: they do, however, present you with a choice:  You can give up or you can get back up on your feet and take a proactive aproach to life.

All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten

All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten.  Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School.  These are the things I learned:

Share Everything.
Play Fair.
Don’t hit People.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life – Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.  Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup.  The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup—they all die.  So do we.
And then remember the Dick and Jane books and the first word you learned – the biggest word of all – LOOK.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere.  The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation.  Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm.  Think what a better world it would be if we all—the whole world—had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and they lay down with our blankets for a nap.  Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are—when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.

All or most of the new people should work someplace in the next ten days.  Either hail or hurricane.  Choose hail if you have a choice. Please make sure the vendor can be trusted to pay you. Be careful  do the best you can and you will do fine.

We are told never to cross a bridge till we come to it, but this world is owned by men who have "crossed bridges" in their imagination far ahead of the crowd.

If you have a good idea, try utilizing it. Don't allow fear to deter your efforts. Fear is good to an extent, but can be very crippling at other times. GO FOR IT.
