Here is a list of damages by county down in easter North Carolina as well as a link to the Raleigh newspaper which is the major source of news to the folks in the eastern and northeastern North Carolina area:
Beaufort County Flood waters rising on south side of the county. Power out throughout much of county, including at least half the residents of Washington. Emergency management officials report significant flooding in Belhaven on north side of the Pamlico River. Brunswick County No major damage, flooding or power failures reported by emergency management officials.
Carteret County Heavy flooding reported in Sealevel, Cedar Island, Davis and Atlantic. Widespread power outages and trees down.
Craven County Downed trees and large areas without power, affecting 20,000 people. Areas of New Bern flooded, but no injuries reported. Heavy flooding reported in Sandy Point, Adams Creek and North Harlowe. Rescue operation needed to reach stranded people in Harlowe. Several roads blocked.
Duplin County Firefighters and sheriff's deputies report many trees down on rural roads and many power outages. No major accidents or injuries reported. No major flooding reported. Situation not as bad as county officials had feared.Greene County Numerous reports of power outages.
Jones County High winds caused problems throughout county, but flooding appeared to be minor. The loss of a tin roof from a business in Trenton sent strips of metal flying through the streets. Power out in many towns. No fatalities reported.
New Hanover County Minor wind damage and flooding. Some trees and power lines down, creating pockets throughout the area without electricity.
Onslow County Trees down, roads blocked and power outages. No reports of injuries. Minor property damage reported, such as canopies ripped and picnic tables overturned. Not as much rain as expected.
Pamlico County Communication cut off with western part of county, but conditions thought to be bad. Hardest-hit area centered on the towns of Bayboro, Hobucken and Oriental. Pamlico County Sheriff Billy Sawyer said eastern part of the county has "neck-deep" water. He said it is the deepest water he's ever seen. Most people without power and phones.
Pender County High winds knocked out power to about 4,200 people, but the storm caused no significant flood problems. Some homeowners lost shingles and vinyl siding.
Pitt County Widespread power outages in Greenville, Ayden and Farmville. Fifteen county roads closed - two because of flooding and 13 because of downed trees.
Sampson County No major flooding, accidents, damage or closed roads reported. Power outages throughout county.
