You can buy it any which way Justin, as long as it pours into a regulation colored holder / flask / jug / can / bottle / tank. We have the same set up as exists anywhere in north america. Cann't call them gas stations anymore, they were - in their day 30 years ago - where you would drive in and 3 men would briskly walk to your vehicle, 1 for gas, 1 for your windshield, and 1 for your oil and tires. Now except for the rare and distant exception, you do your own thing, then go into the "gas bar" to pay hopefully a Deloris, or at least someone who speaks english. |

I see where this is going, if I tell an Aggie joke that everyone has probably heard at the end of a post, it is off the topic. I figure from the attitude its not the joke, I am paranoid. I hope nothing changes for now, everything seems to be working. More posting and membership is up. This is just like the Ghost Buster says, we are getting to be a loud voice. Roy and group are doing a great job, and deserve our support and thanks. |

Newt, I didn't say your joke was off topic. I was just thinking about your 'jumping on' comment, and wondered whether you thought a comment like that; was 'jumping on'. It was a real question, not a jab.
It is the nature of your comments, as are mine from time to time, that naturally cause other questions to be asked; when one wants to understand those comments better. In that regard, I'd also be interested in your thoughts on what it means 'membership is up'? I'm not picking on you old fella, just after another viewpoint or what the comment really means to someone else. Membership being up, means nothing to me. Every Joe and Jane from any walk of life, that have an internet connection can be a member. How does that benefit people in the claims industry? As to the 'loud voice', there is only .085% of the members posting. How loud is the voice, who is in the chorus, what is the song being sang, and who is listening, and what are they hearing?
Roy could probably give us a good comparison. Remember the other web site he said he was webmaster of the paint ball web site, that is much bigger and much more active than this one?
Ask Roy, how many "members" of that site belong to the insurance industry, or have no stated interest in paint ball games or equipment?
This site - CADO - is becoming more and more each month a forum based chat room. People won't recognize that looking at the home page and the mission statement, but once they 'get in', it basically has a chat room mentality. I'm not saying that is wrong, don't misunderstand my comments. If that is what the members want, and there has been a 1000 or so increase in membership as the web site shifts in that direction, then that is fine. However, in being that, don't call this web site a loud voice with anything to do with the insurance industry; because it isn't. |

Clayton, do you think this would change if an event that effected the industry in a negative manner was presented on the CADO site. Maybe the members have not had something like this to rally around. |

No Justin, unfortunately I do not. I base that comment on what is perceived by others as a 'loud voice'; it is not my perception.
An entity, group, organization, or clubhouse, can not have a 'loud voice' in its marketplace, unless that 'group' is representative (as a start) of the industry segment they represent.
I don't know, you don't know, how many of the 2690 "members" have anything at all to do with the claims industry. I don't think we would disagree with each other that a large segment have no relationship to the claims industry.
Until the "voice" is representative of a collective group in a specific market niche, it will have no say, let alone aspire to be a 'loud voice' wanting to be heard. |

Clayton, I see a transparent attempt to exert some control over the CADO site to allow only Adjusters et.al to post here. While I agree this site is for adjusters, what could be wrong with allowing others access. Correct, I do not know the claims industry relationship of the CADO membership in whole or in part, and see no significant reason to question this demographic based on past performance of CADO.
I am interested in why you think that CADO would NOT be representative of a [group] eg. adjusters in a particular time of need or crisis. Are you now saying that CADO is impotent in this industry?
Will you please unmask yourself and explain what types of control etc. you feel CADO [needs] or should have implemented to change your perception of CADO and its standing in the [marketplace], I am sure we would all be interested.
And lastly, thank you for bringing up this particular topic as it surely is something that needs to be debated. |

The other sites are still open and I am sure they are about as active as ever. (Not very) I have not come up with a question lately or I would still be active. The NFIP book that I am in is kind of dry, and there is little room for discussion. We haven't had a storm lately or other subjects to discuss and the doom and gloom is out, so I guess its left up to us to aggitate. The problem I have is being a spectator, and what has to be done to participate is a lot of boring study that is a must before we can expect to be productive. I know I have been delving in a lot of subjects that I will never use, but there is always, nice to know, need to know and must know subjects that makes the whole adjuster. As for all the other topics we discuss and fuss about, even joke about is just a lot of bonding and BS. Every once in a while we de-laminate:>} Hey, get the duct tape out eh.

Justin, you have asked some good, but very pointed questions. While I consider and frame my future comments, could you and others please answer three questions for me?
(1) Why is this topic, "surely something that needs to be debated"? (2) Why do you think CADO IS representative of a group of adjusters? (3) How IS CADO potent in the industry?
I am obviously somewhat uncomfortable in exploring this topic. This is not the first time I have ventured onto this lonely island, with no companions of like mind. I don't look for ways to alienate myself. It feels akin to being able to slap one's brother about the head and call him all sorts of things, but don't anyone else dare pick on him.
Anyway, if there are open minds to discuss it, and at least a few people who care enough to post about it, and I get a sense from others how they look at the questions posed; I'll rattle on. |

1.Why does this topic need to be debated? 2.Is CADO representative of a group of adjusters? 3.How is CADO potent in the industry?
1. Why ask why? Where's the beef?
2. Well, lessee...I'm a stormtrooper, Kyle's a stormtrooper, Jim and Linda and Dave Hood are stormtroopers. Roy's a stormtrooper. Newt wants to be a stormtrooper. Jennifer is a company stormtrooper as is Catdaddy. William S. Cook is a Public Adjuster whose has dealt with stormtroopers. The sponsors of this site and the convention in a couple of weeks are stormtrooper vendors. Other sponsors sell their wares to stormtroopers. Yep, I'd say CADO represents this motley crew of adjusters as well as providing a venue for the public to access our collective wisdoms for their questions and crisis'.
3.Potent? We're as potent as a fresh killed skunk! As I ranted in the prior post, no other medium of communication can compare with the immediacy of response that we do everyday. No where else can an issue be rendered to it's base elements and exposed as we can here. Case in point was the State Farm/Crawford Mold crew debacle some months back. The interest in that topic from readers thru out the industry resulted more than a few chuckles from rival carriers and vendors. Potency? Yeah, we got potency. we've also got regular and irregular posters that rival if not overshadow any of the writers for industry magazines. Mr Flynt and Mr Carr come to mind. Mr Catdaddy also pens a worthy post when he sheds that corporate overtone. He has developed quite well. William S. Cook writes well, also. I have left out many others here to keep this concise, please take no offense.
What is said here is read in all of the corporate offices. The various trade magazines are used solely to decorate the lobby coffee table.
We are the 'A-Team'. |

Clayton 1. So it will be brought to a close with hopefully a meeting of minds. Then put to bed forever. As I recall, this is the third or fourth time this topic has been bantered about with no firm solutions offered. Almost like the posts a couple years ago about forming a union.
2. The only ones posting here [regularly] are adjusters who usually have something of substance to offer to the others who tarry here.
3. I cannot, therefore will not try and improve on Ghosts answer for this portion.
And I am starting to feel the same discomfort as you about this topic, therefore will not participate in the [head slapping] you so elequently opined.
Or in the old military saying WYSIWYG [pro. whyzziewig] What You See Is What You Get. With CADO that is.

Well said Mister Ghostbuster. CADO is a virtual melting pot of cat adjusting, with all aspects of the business being represented here in one form or another.
We are not just potent, we're IMpotent! |

AHH-HAA! See! See, what did I tell ya!!?? In JIMF's new thread on GAB & NCA playing footsie, we have reported a noteworthy news event AND are opening up the analysis of it. RIGHT NOW!!! Not one or two months later, but RIGHT NOW!
Here is where we leave all the rest of the media herd eating our dust. And, mind you, this process is provided to all on a constant basis and at no charge. Not only that, anyone else with their nose in the wind can throw in their two cents worth. What a deal!
The only way this is inferior to the cable news TV networks like CNN or PMSNBC or the FOXES is that they show off the legs and initial cleavage of their Hotties and we don't. Even this humble scribe has to admit my potgut and pleasant countenace pales in comparison to the coiffed cuties of cable. (Alas & Alack! Woe is me...) |

Well, here we are again, with Round #2 of the latest blow up on CADO, and it is not in the slightest way related to claims or insurance.
I can't take credit for the following topics, but why doesn't this cat / claims / insurance web site start some discussion on these;
"Techniques for successful adultery while on the road" "Lesbian & Gay bars for alternative lifestyle adjusters" "How to burn crosses afterhours while on assignment without detection" "How to beat vendor drug tests while on assignment"
We are visible to the whole world via the internet, let alone all the vendors and carriers we are told about that glance in and read about our garbage.
It is beyond me why we have this "Almost Anything" forum; our worst seems to come out in it.
The only person getting their jollies out of this is the mad dog, Reddog. He just spills some crap at random, and we quickly start fermenting in it.
Police have two roles, apprehension and detection of wrongful acts; in some peaceful locales it is referred to as "serve and protect". However, moderation plays no part in either of those duties.
From time to time our play yard seems to break out into a terrible rabble and quite a mess ensues. When the principal is informed, the offending words are only then maybe removed. I think a more pro-active approach is necessary, to eliminate these blow ups before they get out of proportion and make us all look really rank.
Just what does a person have to say before they are censured, suspended, or expelled? |
