Has any one heard of US based firms deploying adjusters to help out in the Philippines? If so, which ones and where can I apply?

While Super Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines hard and may leave up to 10,000 dead, the storm wasn’t a “significant” event in insurance terms. Look at the devastation—the splintered wood, piles of flip flops, corrugated metal, etc.....and you see why.
The financial toll to insurers is likely to be small. Even if the storm costs $14 billion, only $2 billion is likely to be covered by insurance.
Besides that, even with significant carrier losses that would necessitate a large scale deployment, I don't think it would be a wise decision to deploy to the Philippines for ANY American.
The Philippines are home to numerous terrorist factions not the least of which are FARC and Al Qaeda. It is not much of a stretch to see these animals exploiting this storm
