Thought a PI was/is a 'private investigator' (which also comes under most state DOI licensing but is totally different than an adjuster (public or private)? |

Willie, I think if you tear up your PA license, buy a red Ferrari, and change your name to Magnum, you're in the club. No annual dues required. |

Brent I am licensed by the DOI as a Public Adjuster in Florida, California, New York, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Georgia. It is difficult to maintain all of the Examinations, Insurance, Bonds, CE credits, and license renewals so I have let Kentucky and USVI go into mothball status. I have asbestos, mold, and thermography certification and a few other environmental credentials. Cat Daddy I do have a Florida Private Investigator license in Florida that will expire in 2004 if I don't renew. I would really be unhappy to find that persons are competing in my industry for clients that may be in a distressed situation with a madeup title and no oversight by any authority. If you wish to continue to work in the posture of a PA I strongly suggest that you become licensed as a Public Adjuster in the states you choose to work in. William S cook Public Adjuster |

Has anyone heard anything new about smoke damage claims in Southern California as the fires seem to now be under control? |

I closed over 140 + files in less than 3 weeks, I believe we will get several claims from the fire. It really just depends on who you know and how well you perform. I am sure everyone here would agree with me.. :) |

Looks like we have another adjuster who wears a BLUE CAPE, and is faster than a speeding bullet. |

buster- you may be right 35 trucks full of adjusters may well pass me up on their way to cali., but i'll still be called in to clean up and wipe the dribble off their chins.... remember cliche's are cliche's for a reason "know before you go" I'd rather miss out on a couple thousand than rush in and lose my arse___ |

I got a good offer last night. So with a full day of vacationing at home after getting in from VA, California here I come. What a glamorous life. I've been on the road so much this year that I thought the missus was hinting for new clothes the other night when I realized what her true motives were. And at my age, a full day at home was enough of that to last another 6 weeks, I hope. Will somebody who is on the ground in southern CA give us a report? How many claims do you think we will have, etc. I always like the word from the field better than an office a couple thousand miles away. Speaking of day rates, I think they are ideal for situations like this. At least I know what I am making for doing contents. I will not work wind or hail for it, but for mold, earthquake, fire, the only way to go sometimes. |

Don, actually the way Pilot zip coded their losses, it was fairly easy to see 140 claims in 3 weeks, I know several that did it in the V.B. area. They were not large losses, so easy to scope.
guest 98, we now know your name is David, so why don't you fill out your profile properly instead of having david splashed all over the page. |

Thanks. Guess I will take my small printer with me, then. Any other tips as I am going to be doing the same thing. How does it work with the structure adjuster? Do you travel together? |
