Newt, your last post really surprised me, in fact I was a bit shocked by it; but note from page 2 and 3 of this thread you were getting pretty aggressive.
Aside from seemingly not having any relevance to the topic "Iraq", your post is likely quite culturally objectionable.
I don't know the definition or your definition of the "white trash" you detest, but, amongst this CADO community there may well be folks whose sexual orientation is different from yours and folks who may be African Americans, or whatever the proper term might be. If I was one or the other, or both of the labels you are taking exception to; I would be devastated by your last comments. I'm afraid to tell you what you sound like saying those things. |

While I am NOT a big fan or defender of Rush Limbaugh, I would still like for anyone who reads this forum to offer one single false statement that Mr. Limbaugh has uttered in the past many years. I think Rush is an ego-maniac, alabit an honest commentator.

An opinion can be wrong but you might not call it a false statment. I then assume you agree with Rush that one of the chief objectives for the invasion of Iraq was to secure the future of American oil supplies, so we didn't have to depend on the other Arab states, (shows aired last week of August 2002). Rush was fun until he started to belief his own hype a few years ago. |

Chuck,
I need to respond to your comparison of a follower of Christ involved in military warfare and murder. Understanding that the mind and heart of the Father has not changed throughtout enternity, His A plan has always been for man (His creation) to be in a loving relationship with Him. Fortunately for us, He finalized that through Christ on the cross. But there has always been soldiers and soldiering. The 10 commandments are clear in regards to 'Do not murder'. It is clear that killing is not the commandment but murder. There have been Armies of the LORD and the Levites were exempt.
I certainly support your right to express your opinion. Even to the place if you represent those who are object to this war on religious grounds. But the comparison of any follower of Christ that supports this war condoning murder, is not fair.
I agree it can be difficult to reconcile trying to reach the world for Christ and war. But I believe it is possible. Sorry, I just needed to share ny thoughts. |

WHAT TO DO????????
The number of complaints concerning OFFENSIVE POSTS has escalated. What to do about them is always a no win situation. Regardless of the action or inaction on them someone is not going to be pleased.
This topic is today the most volatile subject in our homes, our neighborhoods, our cities, our great country and the world we live in. Can it be no less volatile on this forum? I think not. Nor do I think you could get two people to agree on everything related to religion and politics. Religion and politics are passionate subjects and as such tempers and opinions flare. When the heat is up we often say things we normally would not but once said they can never become unheard.
I am asking each of you to please read your posts thoroughly before submitting them and ask yourself if that is really the message you want to convey and how others might perceive it. Lack of voice intonation in print can create a tone we did not wish to convey. And last but not least, would you say that to someone standing in front of you. The person you are offending may be your best friend and you may never know it.
Thanks for posting on this forum and thanks for taking this into consideration.

Mark, yes I do agree with his comment. If Saddam was allowed to invade his neighbors in the mideast and take over the oil fields it would be a total disaster for the world's economy. You would even then see France begging the US to do something. This would ruin our economy in a matter of months. This possibility, coupled with Saddams single minded quest to obtain [and ultimately use] WMD and share them with the likes of bin Laden more than justify our immediate military intervention for our [your] sake and the safety of the world community. If you feel this is wrong, you may want to add a biohazard suit to your adjusting inventory, you will probably need it.

Best I not post my views. They are misunderstood and since some want to find buzz words to be offended by I will go to another subject. I justified each statment with why and stressed the importance of acceptance of individuals on their merit. Not on creed, race or ethnic background. Buzz words seem to set folks off. Homophobia is a condition and I was born with this gene that says I am straight, If other people are otherwise inclined thats ok, just let me know and I'll avoid them.

Yeah, and Santa will bring me a new F250 4x4 crew cab diesel with leather and all the trimmings. I guarantee you the jolly man in the red suit will bring me my dream truck before Sadam voluntarily disarms. |

I am suggesting that all who read on this thread read Linda's comments, as mine fall parallel to hers. Hate is one of the most emotional words in existance and its meaning robs of us dignity, hense, hate is a wasted emotion. I feel most will agree with this. After reading some of the posts on this thread, I have lost respect for several of the posters, not that they would care, but, if I feel that way, vendors, companies, etc., probably feel the same way. Want to know what is wrong in our american society, just go back up and read. Comapassion and respect for and of others seems to have gone by the wayside for a few. The context of some of the posts was and has not been the intent of CADO, in my opinion. I have been mentoring several adjusters in person and via the internet, not hating that they take up some of my time. I have enjoyed this profession and meeting all segments of our society and will never forget that someone helped me. Guess what, my memtor came from a poor family and were considered white trash in their community. The man who mentored me was very high up in the insurance industry who chose to better his life and on his way, to better that of others. Exactly what is white trash, someone please explain exactly what that means. The constitution says, "all men are created equal". Exactly what does that mean, just the white color, or all colors. What is color. Skin pigment, we all have it.
We ran out of gas, as our gauge was messed up in Mississippi. We sat on the side of the road in pouring down rain. A car stopped, a man got out and walked to the truck and asked if we needed help. I told him we had run out of fuel. He got back in his car and in ten minutes was back with a one gallon container of gas. He poured the gas in the tank, the truck would not start, so he asked me to lift the hood, he poured fuel into the throttle body and the truck fired up. He came to the window again and I handed him a twenty. He did not want to accept it, but I told him I would feel better if he did and if he did not want it, find a poor child somewhere and give it to them. This black man was the only one out of the many cars that sailed by with the color white in them. I have always had respect for all colors, and by the way, white is a color. I was further inspired do do more just by this mans actions. He was driving a beat up older Buick. Black trash, not hardly. Dignity, honor and respect for all, you damned right. |

Oh my Kile, the 'Lariat' finish, or can you imagine the 'King Ranch' finish of the F250 rig you describe. But alas, no matter how hard we wish and hope for that and for the Iraq madman to disarm willingly; our rigs will be the only fruit from that effort - even if only in a brochure at our side for now. |

A lot of people are going to die because of Saddam where there is war or no war. It is going to be messy but how is waiting on approval from the sour grapes crowd going to make in all more better. If we pull out now every country that has let us park a tank or plane will be toast soon. What has been the cost of "containing" the mad man for the past 12 years. If I was spending a billion dollars a day on a project my staff would say I was committed to it. There is no end to this mess but I bet our President is not gearing up to only throw it in reverse because of world opinion. Yes all hell will break loose at the first bomb but are we willing to put everything on hold for another 12 or 24 years until the those enslaved by a lack of understanding that you can not deal with a mad man may see the light? |

Only a humble opinion offered, but one that has stood the test of time:
"BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH"
As was stated to Ceaser, so it is stated to Sadam. |

Tom if it helps you when I think of "white trash" Bill Clinton comes to my mind. By the way a good case has been made that his dealings with Iraq and North Korea has helped create the current issues with these two countries. I do not hate Bill Clintion because Jesus Christ does not hate Bill Clinton but does He love his ways? I know there are a lot of them that I do not love. Again I do not know if you wanted any answer to your request or if this simple reply is of any value to you. With humans when you remove emotions you only have death. Based on that fact I can see that you and Newt are alive and well. :) |
