    Hey guys
I've been trying to get in to the auto claims  industry with a carrier for a while now with out much luck. I'm looking in the Nashville (middle TN) area. I know a lot of you guys came from a carrier background so I'm hoping you can give me the critique I need to be as appealing as possible. I have been applying online and since Nashville is a new area for me I don't have any contacts here at all. Here is a copy of my resume and cover letter. If you guys can give me any ideas I sure would appreciate it.

I have the experience and character to write the estimate and insure that it is done properly the first time saving your company time and money. I am excited about the possibility to work for your company and the ability to help your company succeed. Thank you in advance for your time. "ensure", not "insure".

Good job getting your resume on this website for all to see.

    Have you tried cold calling?

Why not call a body shop and ask them if they know any adjusters. Then call those adjusters and ask them if their bosses have phone numbers. Than call those bosses and tell them you would like 4 minutes of their time to drop off your resume in person and say hello.

If you call 30 body shops and get the names of 10 adjusters who refer you to only 4 bosses you might have a chance to speak with a hiring boss. That should take no more than 3 days of phone calling if you are slow.

    Good luck.

A city like Nashville will probably have one or two large franchise auto appraisal firms, follow Lelands advise and you make get on.(Property Damage Appraisals PDA) or ADA Auto Damage Appraisals). Some large casualty adjusters have staff appraisers, try Crawford, Gay & Taylor, GAB, Custard, Mayfield, Greene etc. If you are squeeky clean State Farm, Allstate, Geico, Progressive, AAA and lots of big auto carriers have staff appraisers for drive through and shop inspections.Call the large dealers body shop,s or better go by.
