Taking my ladder out of my truck 2525 7

Well doesn't look like anything happening soon maybe if I take my ladder out of my truck something will take place.
Lets try a little reverse psychology on these storms.

Daily Work--Insure-Aid 3114 5
Started by SweetHomeBamaGOM
Hello Everyone,
I have been waiting for a storm all year and of course we haven't had a large event affecting the CONUS. However say a prayer for those in Mexico and the Caribbean that have been adversely affected by tropical cyclones this year. The year is not over but with this trough over the SE it doesn't look good....
Anyhow my question has to do with the validity of an independent adjusting firm who has sent me a packet to fill out prior to being...

Adjuster Networks? 2539 1
Started by lawrence260
The company that I work for has been doing claim work just for our clients which is the multi family industry, and have done a hand full of houses off referrals.
Now we are looking to take this division to the next level hopefully.
I am simply looking for any input on how to work with adjusters, from pulic, independent, to company direct.
Other than Crawford connection, what others are out there in order to obtain more business.
Are there any companies that its easi...

Tear off of composition roof layer. 9755 37
Started by Ray Hall
Lots of opines on this subject. The one in this discussion is the following: Does tearing off one or more layers of composition shingles enhance the property in any way. The answer is yes. If property is enhanced in any way then the soft word for depreciation is used, betterment. The betterment definition is subject to a depreciation in all states that I am aware of. (Leave CA. out) Now don,t fall back on the company policy is.... what ever the carrier tells me to do.... just try t...

subrogating against minors 2571 6
Started by Leland
If a kid spray paints the insured's house, do you send a subro demand addressed to the kid or to the parents of the kid, or both
I know it is important to be cautious dealing with minors. I would not want to interview a minor without another neutral adult present. Same reason I don't go inside a home when the only person home is 16 years old.
Anybody ever deal with this
Are the parents legally liable for the actions of the minor, ie could you legally sue the parents if neccesary (d...

Is the Independent Adjuster Fast Becoming Obsolete? 10692 36
Started by CatAdjusterX
I have written&160; more than few times about with Satellite roof technology , the fact that Xactimate is now fully integrated with EagleView and with Sketch , once the adjuster enters the sketch properties, that building is forever archived and future measurements are but a few keystrokes away from a desk adjuster's viewing.
Are we in someway the architects of our own demise I mean think about , every home we diagram today is one less home that will need an adjuster to physically measure it...

Would you consider buying a policy that did not cover roofs for a 50 reduction in premiums? 2451 3
Started by Bobabooey
I hope this never happens because it would severely affect my income. But, roofers, PA's, and filthy lawyers are driving up the honest customers prices. See, in insurance, the crook commiting fraud wins. The old couple that pays premiums every year for their entire lives that does not want to take advantage of their insurance company loses because their premiums go up too even though they dont file claims. They are FORCED to pay for the roofer who pulls up shingles and ca...

'farmers state farm and all state are buying all of these' 5. 'it has severe wind lift' Just a few I can think of off the top of my head.

News Flash: Septic tanks now outlawed in Malibu:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2010/09/state-water-board-outlaws-septic-systems-in-much-of-malibu.html
Let's say a home has a septic system like most Malibu homes in the hills.
There is $50,000 of code upgrade coverage. New codes require 'no septic' which means a sewer line must be dug. The house burns down and the septic system is damaged. (Malibu has big wildfires every few years). Coverage features 5 debris removal (additiona...

Coinsurance on ACV basis even if the insured has RCV 9801 6
Started by Leland
I mentioned this on another topic but I did not give an example. I think I was misunderstood. So here is the the full explanation with an example.
Coinsurance can be calculated on an ACV basis even if the insured has RCV coverage. If an ACV coinsurance calculation pays more to the insured than an RCV coinsurance calculation, settlement can be made using the ACV coinsurance calculation. (If the carrier agrees)
Here&39;s how it works:
The insured has 4 very old printing presses...

HO3 - Weather Conditions 2236 1
Started by mcgrawreed
I know the basic evolution of the homeowners polices from the old line number forms to the present day version. And I know that many items from the older forms have been discontinued or greatly modified. Using the HO3 10/00 as a reference, we find an exclusion for 'Weather Conditions' (Section I - Exclusions, B1, page 12). Exactly what is the purpose of this exclusion On first reading it seems to&160;exclude all wind, hail, lightning, etc, items previously covered in the form. There must be so...
