    Can anyone tell me if I need to apply to about a dozen states separately or is there a company who gets you licensed in the states you choose? Also what is involved in getting the bonding for the states that require them?

    This depends on what state you are originally licensed in, and whether that state reciprocates with the states you intend to get a non-resident license in. I suggest you explore sircon.com. Each additional license represents additional costs.

    Some states use Sircon;  some use NIPR.com;  others use neither.  Go to the state DOI website for instructions.

    I have my resident Montana License and also my texas non-resident license. How much did your bond cost?

    Thanks for all your input .The space in Channels proved to be a big help.

    Now to figure out which would be the best ones to get. It looks like the coastal states would be good and also the states that get a lot of Hail.

    Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island are particularly vigilent about making sure that adjusters are licensed. To the best of my knowledge, Texas and Florida issue temporary cat licenses when needed, not sure about Oklahoma, and Rhode Island is reluctant to issue temporary licenses. But, then again, how often will you need to handle a cat in Rhode Island? (I've had two occasions where I had to stay in Mass. and CT because I couldn't work in RI.) I'm not sure having 20 licenses will help you get work when a temp license is available in that state, but I could be wrong. Texas and Florida are key, though. If I were you, I would use the reciprocal Texas license to obtain your Florida license next.

    I only have TX. and LA and I have worked in about 30 states. If you still need CE ever 2 years this can get costly. I believe in Temp license abd the heavy hitters always seem to get them. I you live near OK thats a good place to get a license for day work if you can bat clean up.

    thanks for the input. Pilot sent me a list of about a dozen states I should get licenses in. I applied in OK. FL. wash. Oregon,Mich. I already have Texas. how about arkansas?

    If I were you, I would get the Arkansas non-resident license. It is reciprocal. We don't seem to have many cats, but I have worked four good ones here in the past 6 years.

    Thanks Tom,

     is there much daily work in Arkansas? Also do you have Georgia? an instructor recommended Georgia. Also the coastal states of Carolinas, Louisiana and Alabama.
