Do you mean something you do online to obtain your TX Adjuster license?? Is that the kind of test you are referring to?

I don't live in Texas anymore (grew up in Houston) so I got my All-Lines TX license by first doing the training offered online by these people https://www.cceducation.com/ followed by the test that they administer online, which has to be observed by someone who is not a friend or family member the entire time you take the test.  Because it is done online, you will be asked some demanding questions and have to know the answers, it is not as easy as some where you can just show up and get your license at the end of class.  And it does take as long as they say it does to read the materials.

I have been adjusting for a long time, and actually learned some things from the materials on lines of Insurance that I don't often do, so I thought it was worthwhile.  When I did this 2 years ago they were the only ones approved by the Dept of Ins to do this online, I don't know if others have followed.

Kurt, I know your post is sincere, but it made my day as I am a Texas Adjuster, with a grand fathers license. "I met some people who have a TX adjusters license after getting their education from an adjusters school on line that they can not remember the name of. It took me about 6 months over 50 years ago and I still remember the names of all my instructors. I was really impressed by their knowledge and a lot of it stayed with me as I was in the same office with them for the next five years.

You poor folks who want a license, should get trained before you get the license. Go to Vale Tec. the only place new property adjusters receive any worth while class room and lab. training for regular claims work.

Work as an apprentice for one monster storm and this will give you a real head start on catastrophe only work.

The drugs and alcohol we grew up with can't compare with what the new guys get, so we have to have mercy on them when they don't remember so well...

Bob and others I did not mean to say it took me 6 months to get my license, no license was required 50 years ago for an adjuster but you had to have 6 months training before you "are one" and the first promotion in 2 years and the next in 5 years and then you began to take off if you "had it". I got my grandfathers license in 1983 as I was working as an adjuster on Sept.30, 1972 but did not apply as I was "outof adjusting and in the oil patch" and did not intend to get back in. I had to get sworn affidavits from ex employers, lawyers and judges who knew me.

Now you can get a license in 3 days in the honorable state of Texas, who is turning these incompetent souls loose on the whole USA. Its the vendors fault. Its a way to screen out bar tenders and piano players in a whore house; because, they have a valid Texas Adjusters license they have to be competant for us to hire them..... ha ..ha..haa. I know only one very large vendor that test their prospective cat. adjuster's .The test and evaluation takes place in Grand Prairie, Tx. Please name others.

Ever vendor who does not test is negligent per se.

I recently used www.1stceu.com to get my all lines license.  The class is $299 and will take several days of reading to complete the course.  The information is good, but there are many problems with the mini-quizzes at the end of each section.  For example, they'll say an answer is wrong when the text is clear that it's correct.  It's the same on their end of course test, which has to be proctored by someone not related to you.  I learned a lot of info and was able to get my Texas all lines license, but I still want more training and am still applying with employers.

Rick this not really fair, but since you now have a*** license to work insurance losses please accept this windstorm loss 56 miles from your home town courthouse. It is a full assignment and the following is required. contact the insured and their contractor, inspect with 24 hours and send in the reserve figure. Get an agreed cost with the contractor and homeowner and write a full narritive report to send with your finished file with in 15 days and a properly executed proof of loss form with a statement of loss in any estimating program you choose. If the loss exceeds $50,000. you must call us back with in 72 hours for the name of the construction consultant in your state.

The coverage is a DP3 with $150,000 on the dwelling and the usual amount on UPP. This loss is in an estate; therefore, get the proper documents from the executor. The Deductible is $1,000. Please take a ROR if you see any coverage questions and send to us ASAP.

You must write your own scope, however the ACCORD shows a large Oak tree cut the house into two parts with walkout basement foundation. Many large trees down on fences and driveways.

Please send your final bill for services with your closing report..

**** A Texas property adjusters license***  Now this happens to real adjusters each day in the catastrophe adjusting world. Now which should come first ? The license ? or knowledge ?

Say Ray- Since Rick doesn't seem to want the file, will you please pull some strings and have it reassigned to me? I'm back home from Tulsa and can get right on it...

...Oh, wait. Are you going to be reviewing the file? Never mind...

    (Just kidding)

OK Lee, should have thought of you first, just send it in a hard paper file on 20# rag paper 94 bright and use big words as we sell our files by the pound.

For the record, I have been to vale. Ive spent my money (not $300 like some fortunate ones) on a class that will give me the proper training to be successful and not just some random-facts week long course that I can squeze out a licensing test at the end of. I just dont live too close to a certified testing facility, so thats why I was wondering where I could take it online. To those it applies: thanks for giving me the benefit of the dobut and offering constructive words of wisdom instead of just going off and bashing me for whatever misconceptions you may have because you have a grudge thats irrelevant to my original post.

You totally lost me there, Mr Jim....and I consider myself an afficiando of sarcasm, wit (good & bad), and  humor (whether it be in good & or  bad taste).  But then again, I tried last nite to get a point across to another poster, and it didn't seem to take either. That's a different thread though.  It's been done a hundred times.

Ah-ha...I see now, said the blind man in a dark room to a deaf man.  You went right over my head there Jim, maybe because you think alittle like I do and I'm not used to seeing that here too much all the time.  It's nice to have another person of questionable sanity to be associated with!!

I have been an staff field adjuster for 30 years in auto and property . Did WC ,BI and Commercial and I do not have a license in MD. Does not require it. I did have one in DE but let it lapsed since I wasn't doing claims there for a couple of years. I heard that a TX license is good for other states.

Can any one tell me what other states it is good for? I will do the online course if needed.

I called my sister in law in Cincinatti and she said that KY and OH has waived license requiremnts for 30 days. She is the insurance busness in northern KY. Power still out in Lousville and Columbus. Power on in north Cinn.
