11 Replies and 7210 Views AM-SCAM 0, Good gyus 1.  7210  11 Started by  grsjms  A month ago we took a class from a CAT adjusting company near Dallas, TX that we will leave nameless, lets just call them 'AM-SCAM'.     We walked aout after two days because after 'graduation' on Friday (5 day 0-to-adjuster advertisement) we read the end of the book and realized all we would be qualified for is to work for them, adjusting simple (roof/siding) claims.  They admitted on the phone that *IF* they contract you, you get bottom (no pay) claims and you sig...

17 Replies and 5649 Views Recommend companies to contact once I get my license?  5649  17 Started by  fonewiz Can any of you seasoned CAT adjusters recommend one or more companies for me to contact once I get my license I want to be as independent as possible. I live in Texas and have no experience. At the minimum I will be getting my Texas All Lines License and then get Xactimate certified, unless anyone here thinks that's a waste of time/money.   Any advice or contacts for someone like me that's green with no experience that would like to get on a few list to be called when the storms hit and ...

10 Replies and 11269 Views Sketch problems  11269  10 Started by  Jim Seylor I've been following xact's chap.4 tutorial online with some success. But when I make mistakes and delete out the staircase to move walls etc. the program leaves phantom zones that cannot be over written. Also on the roof if I'm clean, no mistakes using square break gives a nice hip with offsets and proper valleys. Otherwise it just cuts a chunk out of the corner and I can't move anything. Trying to merge roof 2 into roof 1 simply draws seperate roofs. The eave heights are equal. Seems like there...

10 Replies and 3908 Views If I was a back street vendor.... I would do this...  3908  10 Started by  Ray Hall I would not charge new people to learn how to scope storm damage. I would be honest and invite them to my office address to learn from the old pro,s who have looked at 50K roofs in their lifetime. Ask the new people to house and feed themselfs for a 5 days. Show them closed files for the first day.(each day is 12 hours). Then roof measurements one day, then inside structure 2 days, then ALE 1/2 day. Then contractors and PA,s 1/2 day. And on the last day photos 1 hr, reports 2 hr, appointments 1 ...

19 Replies and 11787 Views Reciprocal TX All Lines states...  11787  19 Started by  2roadrunners  This has probably been answered somewhere in this forum before but I haven't really found a complete, definitive answer. I live in Michigan and am recently TX All Lines licensed. Following that I was fortunate enough to be deployed and worked IKE for about 6.5 weeks for an independent company out of SC. What an experience! I know I probably did this backwards due to likely bad advice&8230;I am now in the process of obtaining my resident Michigan license so I can do some work here ...
