Colorado State has released their summary for the 2009 Hurricane Season and as most visitors know, it was a non-event. Per the summary released 11/19/2009, the 2009 hurricane season had activity at below-average levels. Nine named storms occurred during 2009. (so far) This is the fewest named storms in a tropical cyclone season since 1997 when eight named storms formed.
