I am attending courses to obtain my TX adjuster license next week. I have been in the construction field for about 10 years now. I currently work for a commercial general contractor in the Houston area. I have used xactimate when working for  a restoration company for a few years, and dealt/helped close several insurance claims from the contractor side. I am very efficient with a super go getter attitude. I need some advise from some of the more experienced adjusters on this site as to where is a good starting point. I have all the tools to get started; ladder, laptop, vehicle, cash to float my expenses.. I am young, single and have no committments that would alter my work schedule. Can someone please give me advise so that I'll have an angle to approah a potential firm.. Thanks

With that past experience, do you have the contact info for those carriers you did work for?  That's my first thought... if you had any type of relationship or in-roads with those field/staff adjusters that can maybe lead the horse to the water.

I don't have any contact information on the adjusters I was working with. It was actually about 6 or 7 years ago in the Houston area. I truly wish I did, I feel that would be a shoein for sure.
