My stormin buddy Glen sent this to me a while back. His organizational skills are top notch and mine are not. I think he was trying to give me a hint and I appreciate his efforts. If anyone else can use this form it has been useful to me. I usually keep this stapled to the inside cover of my file for quick reference..

Its a great routine.   A few years ago I had an assistant who made a similar form, but it was printed 4 to a sheet, cut and stapled to the outside jacket of each file.

I also picked up the habit of making a spreadsheet of all claims, what status they were in, call times, turn in times, and billing.  That sheet is a great motivator for me, after a 14-16 hour day it is nice to see if you made any money.

I am also not organized normally, but it is one of the most important [arts of being a successful adjuster.

Mark, I thought of you the other day when one of the staff in my chiropractor’s office said she was going to an open air Jimmy Buffet concern in Chicago in July since you quote his songs from time to time. I had never heard of Jimmy Buffet until I saw the name in a marketing book that I was reading a few years ago and because it was somewhat dated I just assumed Jimmy Buffet had long since passed from the scene but thankfully I was wrong for the sake of Jimmy. J  I see he is still kicking quite high. http://www.margaritaville.com/tour_dates.php

Joe, you make a good point with all things being equal and I am sure based on your fine additions to CADO you mean it in the most positive of ways. Thanks again Joe for leading me to take an evening to reflect on what you and others are telling me. To ensure I follow through I called in the wife and kids and committed to overnight trips to nearby locations like St. Louis, Memphis, Nashville and Louisville. It is a starting point.

Gale,
I too ran a company before coming back to adjusting in Jan 2001.....I too work 12-16 hours a day, 6-7 days a week....I owned and operated three Boat Yards during a span of about 12 years......

I have learned that TOMORROW IS PROMISED TO NO ONE..........I missed a lot of great moments during my only child's maturation........

So, again I say........GET A LIFE ...FIND THE TIME........because one day, you will be looking at the grass from the dirt side and then it will be too late........

By the way, I walked away.......sold out and have never looked back...oh yeah, there is one thing I do miss.....running the 60 ton travel lift with a 53' Hatteras Motor Yacth in the slings---it will really get the juices flowing......

Go get a flowery, bright shirt and go have a Key West Weekend.......without the kids!!!!

Good luck with unwinding and enjoy the tome that you are planing with the family....

Best regards,
Joe L.
