| Some of the people on this board won't like this post.
I know a guy....who was busted for Robbery and drugs. He was in his early twenties....and did 5 yrs in jail. He Got out...and did it again. Next time he did another 5 yrs in jail. After the second jail sentence...he re-thought his life. He decided that crime wasn't for him. He found his spiritual path....and went to college. Got his BA degree....and then went on to law school by attending night school. He then passed the Bar....then clerked for a judge...then worked for a non-profit,...then went into private practice.....This guy is LAWYER!...and a convicted Felon.

1- You didn't Rob a Bank
2- You didn't commit a violent Crime
3- You didn't commiit a Crime of Moral Turpitude
We all have done things that we have to live with. Some have gotten caught...others, seeminly got away with it.
All you can do is Try....then you can honestly say...."i tried."
Remember...if you have the drive to make it....you can make it in "just about" any field...not just as an insurance adjuster.

| Tony, anyone can become who they wish to become. I am surprised that a convicted felon was able to get his license after passing the bar. Funny world we live in. | |

| A lawyer's dog, running around town unleashed, heads for a butcher shop and steals a roast. The butcher goes to the lawyer's office and asks, "if a dog running unleashed steals a piece of meat from my store, do I have a right to demand payment for the meat from the dog's owner?" The lawyer answers, "Absolutely."
"Then you owe me $8.50. Your dog was loose and stole a roast from me today."
The lawyer, without a word, writes the butcher a check for $8.50. The butcher, having a feeling of satisfaction, leaves.
Three days later, the butcher finds a bill from the lawyer: $100 due for a consultation. | |

| Thanks Tom,....but your statement is incorrect. We are sold a dream in America....but its not reality. The reality is, if you are a convicted Felon...you won't get a job as a Federal Prosecutor....nor will you get a job as a judge. Most likely if you are a felon, many jobs will be closed to you. The Facts are....most covicted Felons are trapped by the mistakes of their past...and they can't get out it....even though they have reformed themselves. That's why are prisons are full of repeat offenders.... How do i know this? My Fiance's father...is a Supreme Court Appeals Judge! | I've been a several boards over the years, none have folks like you that have given me so much encouragement. You guys have motivated me to get the license which I'll do soon. I did pay the attorney and the expunction is underway. For now I'm continuing in my current job with intentions of taking the class (in Texas) and getting the license real soon. I want to make sure the expunction is done before I submit the app for the license. That's the easiest way to go otherwise I'll have to explain and provide all the information about the conviction.
