| Hate to say it, (especially in these hard times), but in the words of Nancy Reagan, "JUST SAY NO" to any and all citizens RFP'S. That goes for daily claims by an IA firm, cat claims by an IA Firm, and all Independent adjusters.
The message will be LOUD AND CLEAR, you wanna control us? Sorry Charlie, (Citizens) we only work for the very best, and you don't meet our expectations. | | "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new... Albert Einstein"

| I can assure you Dave, we will not be working claims for Citizens. It was bad enough in 04 and 05 with all their newby examiners that did not know what they were doing, and then blaming the IA's for their incompetence. Citizens has become too beauracratic and full of folks trying to gain ground and move up the ladder. I, for one, am not the least bit impressed with their rules and regulation and demands. We may not get any hurricane work in Florida, but we will make it, until the folks at Citizens and the Florida politicians, quit playing games. I am still in awe as to why they did not allow John Postava and Simsol to submit a bid to be their estimating system of choice, particularily being a Florida based operation. Simsol is hands over better than Exactimate, in my opinion. Things are just not right at Citizens, something smells very badly. | | Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. | |

| Tom, et AL:
IF ONLY, those that truly care for our profession would boycott that particular carrier, it would go a very, very long way towards our goal to retain the professionalism and quality of the dedicated catastrophe adjuster.
And , if those that wish to aspire to the ranks of our ilk would also conscribe to our dictate, perhaps the carriers, et al, would appreciate our true worth. | | "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new... Albert Einstein"

| I was told by a former Citizens exec speaking at a tradeshow last year that the new management team was heavily former SF folks so they wanted to stick with the software they had used for years but they did not use Xactnet. I have heard nothing since then. Some seem to thing it is not a software issue per say. | | | |

Now if only the die hard "Gitter done" type adjuster who sais "Yeeeha i got myself some work! weeew!" would listen to this man, and not take the call.
Props for the effort Hood, but dangle the word "Daily" in front of any AI adjuster, and you get a bite. its like fishing with the largest net in the world, in the smallest pond in the world.

| I was doing an inspection today with a PA from Miami. He has a friend that works for Citizens as staff that received 60 appraisal files in one month. This number doe not include regular claims. The guy is buried. | | | |

| It is unbelievable to me that Citizens would eliminate the RFP's when so many vendors spent time and a lot of expense to comply with Citizens request. That make one wonder what will happen if a big cane hits. I for one will not be working with Citizens until some common sense is injected into their program. I for one, will not lease Exactimate just to work for this organization. Even though Integraclaim has some problems, I will use nothing else, as I understand the program and do not understand the complexities behind the Exactimate program, which is designed for contractors. Citizens needs to wake up fast. Simsol has an excellent program. We used it back in the DOS days, but cannot justify having numerous programs to work losses. We, as adjusters, already have enough expense and low schedules do not help. It must end or the insurance industry will suffer from poor claims procedures and adjusting by people who do not know what they are doing. | During this time of having too much time on my hands, and in an effort to find something to do, I wound up on way too many lists. It seemed everyone was on this Citizens program. I was told by several of them I had to go to their class to be "certified". And my certification would not go from vendor to vendor. So I'm with Tom, I might jump through one hoop, but thats about the extent of it. I'm using Xactimate now, but these classes, certs, changes etc, there will be plenty other vendors and companies to work with in the event of a major hurricane, and then I'll bet the major requirement will be a pulse. (its funny how a little work will change your outlook).
