As I'm sure you have heard, tornadoes ripped through already damaged NOLA this morning.  I have spoken to my brother, who is working there right now.  He said that as of 7:30 am, his cat office had recieved 47 claims, all this before the agent's offices had opened.  I have a friend in the Carrolton area, and she had severe damage to her home, and several trees down in her yard.  More impressively, though, is that her house was holding up her next door neighbor's house, and a tree was through that dwelling.  She said the whole block sustained damage, but could not get out to get an idea as to how widespread the damage was.  I know there was damage in at least three seperate areas, with one fatality, and about 20 injuries.

Interesting to note that my brother stated that the independents that have been working out of his cat office were for the most part gone, and even some staffers had been sent home this week.

Tony, I know that Worley is deploying about 10 IA's to work SF claims in NOLA.  I have also heard a company called Trinity is going to be deploying, but I'm not familiar with them, and don't know who they work for.  Worley is also deploying 2 or 3 to the Breaux Bridge area.  My brother says SF is expecting about 6500 claims from this event, but that SF staff cat adjusters will handle the majority of it.

My name is Pat, and I live about 45 min from downtown NOLA.  I have done about 220 claims in Florida following Wilma.  I am looking for someone who will be working in NOLA that needs a helper.  I would like to get more experience before this years storm season.  If someone needs some help and is willing to lend me some expertise.

My cell is 985 969-0991 and my email is asap4louisiana@yahoo.com

Thanks for any replies in advance.

Pat

I know there was golf ball (1.75 inch) in New Iberia, but the only 2-3" hail I have heard about is in Tuscaloosa, Selma, and Montgomery, Alabama last night.  The hailstorm in Tuscaloosa hit the University of Alabama's campus, so if you are auto certified, you might want to check into it.

You think $30 bucks to park is bad listen to this for our 20th anniversary last week I wanted to go and spend the night in NY City so I started shopping hotels. The Holiday Inn Time Square (inside room no windows) was $175.00 per night plus an additional $45.00 if we wanted to park there. It goes without saying we stayed home. As it turned out that was the day of our blizzard.
