I guess you heard about China's plan to prevent rain on the opening day of the Olympics this year. Of course weather modification is not new but these guys are serious about their efforts. I read an article today that stated that they had over 37,000 people (most are weekend warriors), 30 aircraft, 4,000 rocket launchers and 7,000 antiaircraft guns and is considered the largest in the world. The article ended with the following comment from the director of the group; "If you're talking about a small rainfall, you can eliminate it. But if it's going to be raining cats and dogs, there's nothing man can do about it." |
