Folks,

The rumors of tornados in Oklahoma are not rumors.  2 inch hail, neighborhoods torn up, typical Oklahoma spring breezes.

Y'all come visit.

On Weathermatrix.net it listed 1.75" in Norman and 1.00" in Moore. Both Tulsa and OKC show less than 1". The towns with the 2" plus hail were smaller towns. What areas have the larger hail?

As far as tornados go, in 99, there were a lot of damaged homes, but two to three blocks to either side of the path, there was little or no evidence of damage.

Here are some wind and hail reports for 3/31, http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/reports/080331_rpts.html
We also received some large hail in Texarkana, damage to buildings and houses in areas near I 30. However, I was in St. Louis when hit so I did not see but my son reported damage to the building he works in and my wife report softball size hail at the hospital.

We took one of our daughters and our grand daughter out to eat last night in Benton. Her apartment complex is about 500 yards south of where the tornado touched down at the Pontiac dealership and Target. We had left about an hour before the touchdown. I called her and told her to go downstairs to her neighbors apartment to weather out the storm after seeing the warning on channel 11. After it was over she went out and said she could see all the emergency vehicle lights on the Target parking lot and had heard that famous train roar.

When all was over, we suddenly have water coming through our ceiling drywall. Not sure it was conincidence or not, but our skylight, one out of two, started leaking. We are working this morning trying to get it fixed so we don't get anymore water in the house. I feel we were quite lucky on this one. It was close, too close.

Now we have to gear up to work more claims.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

I can tell you right now that 2 of the big carriers have ALL their cat personnel deployed at this time. We see some good hail events, I'm gonna say there should be some work presenting itself to some.

I have just started getting calls re deployment. I am opting to stay home, got enough work here, but its good to see people finally getting deployed.
